room service

We are cruising on celebrity with a family group. The 14 day cruise will have 3 formal nights which we do not wish to participate in. What alternatives are there? Room service? Other eating venues?

During one cruise with Royal Caribbean our kid was ill with fever so we opted to stay in room and not go to formal dinner. We had room service dinner the same as what they served in the dining room. Very good.

Yes, you can order room service, or you can eat in the cafeteria-style restaurant where breakfast and lunch are served. There will be a few other options too, like a pizzeria or a grill-style place where you could get a burger(I forget which of those options Celebrity has.)

For a more detailed answer, you could post your question at cruisecritic.com

Which Celebrity ship?

Celebrity ships do not offer a buffet option for dinner like other lines. Most do have an alternative dining option in the buffet area which is available by reservation and costs $2 per person gratuity.

There are also specialty restaurants which are excellent for 30 pp but they do not allow children.

Some ships have the Aqua Spa cafe but that is lighter spa type cuisine so not likely appealing to everyone though it is my preferred dining venue on board.

Hi Aferrick,
Recently we sailed on Celebrity's Constellation. On one formal evening we opted to try the buffet dining area at a cost of $2 per person(gratuity) it was smart casual attire. Interestingly enough this is the dining area where Celebrity trains their waiters for the formal dining room. The food and service was very good. My favorite part was that we asked if we could have our coffee and dessert served at one of the tables outside under the stars and they were very accommodating. It was a great finish to a nice meal. Have a super cruise...enjoy your adventures and make great memories which will last forever.

Stay Savvy!
Hugs,
