Rhine River cruise

We are thinking of taking a Rhine River cruise next summer. Since you cruise during the night, are you able to see many of the castles along the way? Some years ago, we did a daytime cruise on a small part of the Danube out of Vienna, to Durnstein then back by car. It was amazing seeing the views along the way. We are looking at Viking. Avalon & AMA, any thoughts?

We’ve cruise the Rhine, Moselle, Rhône, and Danube multiple times The itinerary on the trips are timed so the trips pass by the most scenic parts of the rivers during the day. In particular, the cruise along the Rhine (which we did twice) featured a daytime passing along the famous “Castle Run”. We did our cruise with Tauck but Viking, AMA and Avalon ships were making the same trip on essentially the same schedule. Don’t worry, you won’t miss seeing plenty of castles.

"We did our cruise with Tauck but Viking, AMA and Avalon ships" . . . Vantage as well. Plenty of daytime cruising/castles
