Does it get boring in repositioning cruises?

Depends on what you enjoy, which ship, what the ship has to offer and the itinerary. On other cruises, have you liked the days at sea or felt antsy to get to the next port and get off? That will pretty much tell you. Do you like lounging about or do you like to be on the go all the time? If you enjoy the ships entertainment and it is good on your cruise, if you like to gamble, dance, swim, etc. you will enjoy it and have plenty to do.

We took one Transatlantic/repositioning cruise: departed from Florida, 7 days at sea, stops in 6 European ports, ending in Rome. I loved the days at sea. Weather was beautiful and the ship had a lovely promenade deck, lots of pools, movies and some entertainment that I liked. I like to read so much that I could read for 7 days straight and be happy, but I also love being on the water.

We were on a repo cruise going through the Panama canal - not boring at all! Ports, food, activities - same as on any cruise.

WE LOVED/LOVE REPOSITIONING CRUISES!!!! The ones we loved were the ones that started in Europe where you gained a day instead of loosing it. For us we enjoyed the 13-14 days and always, always spent two to three days in the Departure city, weather it was Rome, Barcelona or London. Repositioning cruises give you days at sea where you can relax by the pool or enjoy the fact that you can enjoy cruising the way it as meant to be..not a port a day.. Yet, it give you an opportunity to visit ports in Spain, Portugal that are not the usual Caribbean tourist meccas like Cancun or Grand Caymen..LikeDayenu we too did a full transit on the Panama Canal leaving from Ft. Lauderdale to California.. One of our last cruises was only 7 days which for us was a mistake.... The only negative is the airfares..from the Northeast

I did 2 repositioning cruises.

1st was from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale. 14 days with about half of the days at sea. One of the best, relaxing vacations I ever had.

2nd was from Vancouver to Alaska and then down to San Diego. 11 days of fun and excitement. We stopped in 3 different ports in Alaska then San Francisco and Catalina Island before arriving in San Diego. The ship was scheduled to continue to Florida through the Panama Canal. I just did not have the time to do it.

I loved both cruises and did not find them to be boring at all.

It all depends on where it is repositioning to or from. If you have a lot of sea days, enjoy the ship's facilities and relax, catch a show etc. We have taken re-positioning crusie and they are the best bargains around.

You'll discover that those seemingly boring sea days slide by in a witless guzzle - perfect cruising. The other passengers drink themselves into a stupor by mid-afternoon, the activities crew arrange wall-to-wall trivia competitions, the staff actually get to bond with you - indeed, you'll hardly notice that time goes by, there is so much niceness all around.

It's a bit like being dead - or in an aquamarine coma. Cruisers love it. Even the curmudgeonly dog is known to smile - but I suspect that's because it's much, much cheaper.

Done 5 - Transatlantic twice - LOVED the sea days. You almost have no choice but to relax and unwind.
San Diego to Vancouver and the reverse. only 1 port (Victoria) and a total of 4 nights. Not boring at all.
LA to MIA moving the ship from CA to FL for the winter season. Via Panama Canal, several stops, never boring.
