Regent Mariner Alaska
We have hopped on the great price bandwagon and booked a cruise for next month (!); Vancouver to Seward, one week. Not being cruisers, just wondered if anyone has more recent comments about the ship, the good, the bad, the indifferent, or some tips that will make this trip better for us.

If you can, spend some time at each end. When we did our Mariner Seward-Vancouver cruise, we flew up a few days early to Anchorage. We rented a car at the airport, overnighted in Anchorage before heading up to Denali. We spent the night at a B&B near the Park, and the next day we spent most of the day in the Park, using National Park Service tickets that we had pre-bought online. Then we drove to Talkeetna for a couple of days at the Alaskan Lodge. While in Talkeetna, if weather permits, a flight around McKinley is a great experience. We also took a River cruise excursion, which was fun. From Talkeetna, we drove back to the Anchorage airport, dropped off the car, and took the train transfer to the ship.
On the cruise itself, we did a mixture of Regent excursions and ones that we booked on our own, but if your cruise has "free" (or discounted) Regent excursions, I'd certainly opt for as many Regent excursions as possible. We especially liked Regent's Sea Otter Quest in Sitka and the White Pass Rail in Skagway. I also know the Tracy Arm excursion is extremely popular when offered. When we disembarked in Vancouver, we spent several days there and included a day trip to Victoria. |
And how dressy does one have to get in the evenings?
|
Well thanks anyway for your comment and yes I know what I'm talking about. I don't get why some people talk to me like that I think this is a free place where you can write and talk what you want !!! so next time please don't be so bad with your critics...
|
Well, yes you can say what you want and yes you apparently do, in many places, but even though I would prefer to address this in the right place, which is not MY question/thread, let me point out to you that you have asked lots of questions, provided conflicting information and for a young woman (I believe you said you were 21), you show an appalling lack of grammar and spelling, not to mention punctuation. All of that would help us read your posts better, and perhaps give you real advice. Good luck on your travels home.
