Radisson or Silverseas for smoker Parents?

We are invited to go on a cruise with my parents (they're going to pay 25% of our cruise...yea) They'd like to go on a small to mid size luxurious ship and they both smoke. Are there any luxury ships that may be more smoker friendly than others? Good food (not necessarily gourmet) and service are important to them and they'd prefer a diningroom that does have a smoking section (if these even exist anymore?). Thanks for any suggestions from anyone who has been on a small to mid size, luxury ship. Any "Don't consider this ship" comments are welcome as well. Our destination has not been determined yet. Thank you, Carl

Carl:

Having sailed on both of the lines that you mentioned, I'm afraid that niether would be considered smoker friendly. The Silverseas is especially non-smoker. The Radisson's dining rooms are non smoking but they do have an area right outside of the dining rooms that we saw some smokers using. Both lines restrict smoking in the cabins and almost all of the common areas. Smoking is permitted on the open deck areas. You would love The Mariner at Radisson.

You might consider Seabourn; the last time we were on Pride there were several smoking tables in the forward part of the dining room. It would be best to check, though, if smoking is still allowed in the dining room. (Even if gourmet dining is not a priority, you will find fantastic food on all three lines!)

Silverseas DOES allow smoking in rooms and lounges. I just got off the Silversea Shadow and there are many places onboard to smoke. The airconditioning is sooooo great that one never smells smoke. Also, I only saw a very select few smoking.

I would encourage you to to Silversea
