question abt HAL Westerdam
I've been having a very frustrating time trying to get a clear answer from HAL about bed size. We need a king size bed, and can't afford the highest category cabin-- which for sure is king. We'd like to book SS category, but sometimes I'm told those beds are standard queen (30X60) which is too small-- other times I'm told that the beds go together to make one significantly larger than standar queen. Crazy that I can't get accurate info. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who sailed on that ship if they can confirm for me what the bed sizes actually are. Thanks! (If I can't confirm king size, I'll have to go with Seven Seas-- which is both more expensive and only 7 days instead of 10, and I'd prefer the 10 day HAL Baltic cruise.)

I recall that 2 single size beds were pushed together. What size it actually made is beyond me but it was large enough for 2 of us. When you contact the HAL reps on the 800 number your experience may be like mine...I ask the same question to 5 people and I get 5 different answers. This can be frustrating but remember the actual reps have likely not been on a HAL cruise and can not speak from experience. They're probably reading from a web site and often are not of much help.

Two singles are pushed together even in the S cabins. Sorry but I can't give you the actual size.

I don't know if you have already made a decision, but we just returned from a trip on the Maasdam - HAL. We were told the bed would be a queen size, but, it was 2 extra long twins pushed together - making it a king. Very comfortable. I hope that helps.

My wife and I are heading out on the 14 day Westerdam cruise at the end of August and I was hoping you all had suggestions of excursions at the following locations...Dubroknik Croatia, Palermo Italy, La Goulette Tunisia, Cagliari Italy and Tarragona Spain.
Any info at all would be really apreciated! |
