Puerto Limon excursion
 

Just returned from a Holland American Caribbean Cruise and want to tell about our excursion in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica. We did not sign up for the cruise ship's excursion but contacted Danilo Hall who I had read about on fodors. He picked us up at the port and combined a Tortuguero Canal boat trip with a drive to the Cahuita National Park. And on the way stopped at the Banana factory and at a Costa Rican home where a sloth lived in a tree behind the house and was a pet of the children. We got to hold the sloth which was a thrill. He seemed to know just the right things to do with us, even stopping by a local market with all kinds of fruits. There were four of us in his airconditioned van with him and his friend Shani. It was the highlight of our whole cruise. I hope others will contact him. His email is [email protected]

I have been there , so it sounds like you had a great time and covered a lot of places,that only a private tour guide could take you to.

Glad to hear you had a good time with Danilo. We did a private trip with him in December 2007. We had a great time - he picked up on our interests and made stops along the way that fit those interests. I think that's the sign of a good guide.
