Private tour help

Hello~

I need help with recommendations for tours of Sorrento & Amalfi.

I am with a group of 6 people - we are looking for someone or tour agency to take us around the area for the 2 days our ship - the Regatta - is in this area.

Any recommendations or suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

Sorrento is a cute little town with not much to do or see. It is "famous" for its inlaid wood, and there is a factory around the area. Sorrento is basically used as a place to get a ferry to the island of Capri. You can do this yourself. The big deal about Capri is "The Blue Grotto"--which is just an inside lagoon type thing (I 4got the actual word) that everybody goes to--you have to pay the people that take you to the lagoon by motorboat, then transfer other boats (and the water is choppy)to a row boat whereby a the rower rows you into the lagoon and YOU HAVE TO DUCK when u enter--otherwise YOU WILL BE headless-and, depending on the time of day you go, the sunlight hits the water and you see blue water. That's the Blue Grotto deal. On the otherside of the island (Anacapri), there's Villa San Michele that (I 4got the gentleman's name) resided there. Getting to Anacapri is fun--you have to take a "bus" that goes alongside the mountain. Actually, there's also a chairlift that takes you above villas. 1 person per chair. I have a fear of heights and I did it anyway. Capri is cute anyway. That's where/why the funicular song is. You have to take the fun. up from the Marina Grande when u land by ferry. The Amalfi Coast drive is nice also. Why don't you try a web search--drive in rome.com

We were on the Insignia in October, scheduled for Amalfi, but docked in naples instead because of bad weather.

Six of us arranged a tour with Giovanni of www.tourofitaly.com He took us to Sorrento, Amalfi, Positano and Ravello. He was charming, and we felt very safe with his driving along the Amalfi Coast. The cost was 50 Euros per person (including tip) for a full day.

Thanks everyone for the help -- I will be checking in to these websites.

Sometimes it's just so confusing when there are so many options.
