We've only cruised on HAL, where they DO charge for bottled water but not for ice cream. There was always iced tea & lemonade on the buffet; or served free in the dining room. If your kids like soft drinks, I imagine that, as on HAL, you will have the option of purchasing a soft drink card that gets punched for each drink purchased. What else can they run up -they can't purchase alcohol. If they are fairly responsible, they won't be buying out the gift shop. Have a good time on your cruise.

True Sue. Soda cards will be about about $4.50 per day pp for unlimited amts. of soft drinks. :-)
