Princess Sapphire

Just wondering, what are the ages of people who sail on Princess? Mu hubby/I are in our early 40's and want a choice of alot to do on a cruise. Does Princess offer that?

The internet. Is it easy to send mail or do you have to wait long for mail to go through? Thanks.

The internet connection on the Sapphire is fast, however it costs 35 cents per minute which I thought was expensive.

I would guess that the average age is probably 40s on Princess. However, if you sail over a holiday (such as Thanksgiving, Christmas or Easter) there will be a younger people and a lot of children on board.

I am in my 30's and sail Princess quite a bit. Princess seems to attract people from all ages, so you will have younger people and much older. Though there are a lot of other factors that affect age - if you sail during spring break, you will have a younger group or if you sail on a 20 day cruise, it will be a much older group. I have always felt comfortable on my Princess cruises (started sailing in my 20's).

Internet is .35/minute on Princess. Other lines are .75/minute. So while expensive, it is less expensive then other lines. As far as speed - it really varies. I have seen it seem rather quick sometimes and also had it not working other times. It varies with the ship's connection to the satellite, what ports you are in (some issues with mountains and accessing the satellite), etc . .

The internet have terminals - as long as you have a web based email - it works rather well.

Hope this helps.

Destination also hsa influence on age demographics. we sailed thr Sapphire in August to Alaska which seems to have a higher % of older clients. We are in our early 50's and honestly I had a ball talking to many of them. Cool perspective on life I think. As for what to do good God yes you can stay as busy as you wish. Bon voyage! :-)

Jacket - that is also true (can't believe I left that out). A friend with children sailed the Panama Canal for their spring break on the Island Princess. Very old group on the Panama Canal ship - they did love the ship and have good thoughts about the cruise.

Thanks Theresa. We hope to do that cruise as well some day. Cheers, Larry :-)

Princess has excellent activities and entertainment and the Sapphire /Diamond are 2 of their better ships. I would not worry about ages of fellow passengers, generally there will be a nice mix of ages. They have a gorgeous Internet cafe on this ship, the speed is not road runner quality but it will meet your needs.
