Port or starboard?

We are going on a Southern Caribbean cruise next March, and I was wondering which side of the ship would be more scenic? We already have a balcony cabin on the starboard side, but will switch to port side if the view is better. We're starting out and finishing in San Juan

Thanks for your help!

In my personal opinion, it makes no difference. Depending on the port, the side of the ship actually facing the town could be either the port or starboard side. It depends on which parking space (so to speak) the captain is assigned. At sea, you will be too far from the coast to see anything, so it makes no difference in that respect. I have had both port and starboard balconies and I have no preference - I'm more interested in location on the ship (I prefer mid to front) and the cabin's location relative to elevators, stairs, etc.

I agree, it makes no difference which side of the ship you are on. You don't know which side of a pier you will dock on so don't know what your view will be. We have looked at the other ship parked across the pier from us, the town and the 'other side' where there's really nothing but maybe rocks to look at. You can always go up on deck, get a chair/chaise and look at what ever you want.
