Plz Help!Shore excursions?
We may be cruising on the Voyager of the Seas this fall, and want to know how much are the shore excursions? We are not snorklers. How much to do Dunns River Falls?
Grand Caymen shore trips, etc....
Any advice appreciated.

When we did dunns river falls we just took a cab there - to walk up the falls and to walk around the area was free. (bring aquasoles don't try to do it in your bare feett)We took a cab tour around the island with another couple (can't remember how much$) and that was one of the stops.

In caymen we snorkled sting ray city ($25/person arranged on shore-not through the cruise)then took public transportation around caymen which was't that bad. Caymen is small so a taxi would probably be inexpensive to get from point to point.

Don't do ship's excursions. They were PACKED with people. I suggest Peat Taylor forJamaica and Capt Marvin for Stingreay City.

Cabs are extremely expensive in Grand Cayman.

Shore trips are VERY expensive and are limited to the itinerary of the offering. Some cruise lines also own the shore trip companies. Where you are planning to go you do not need one shore trip. Grand Cayman island can be walked for all you want to see of it, it has good bookstore. It is not an interesting stop unless you have an interest in Carribbean bio-culture. Nearly every Carribbean stop can be done on your own two feet or on a bus. If you are the very uncertain type book the trip, after a few times through these islands, you will not even get off the ship. Look for a better itinerary. Sorry for being a bit off on these island but all they do is American cruise ships and all you are is paycheck.

Hey Kenwood. Don't knock Grand Cayman. Great beaches, great diving, great snorkeling. Atlantis Sub, Helmet Diving, Stingray City, Turtle Farm (been 3 times). Best of all the natives must all have a job and the island is utterly clean.

Paul
