PLEASE SAY IT AIN'T SO!

I just found this site. It seems that every post about Norwegian is horrible! We are sailing next week on the Norwegian Sun. It's for my 50th birthday because I didn't want one of those goofy parties. Has ANYONE had any good experience with Norwegian? I cetainly don't want to come home wishing I had opted for the party.

50ish:

Don't panic. If some of the comments on this board accurately reflected the cruise experience, criminals would be sentenced to cruise rather than prison.

I haven't sailed NCL myself, but my folks have at least twice and they had a great time.

Approach your trip understanding that there will likely be a few minor inconveniences (feeding, housing, and entertaing 2,000 people at a time isn't an easy thing to do 100% perfectly every time all the time) but overall you will have a great a experience.

You will have some average meals, some very good ones and maybe one or two great ones. You will meet some fun and interesting people if you make an effort and leave yourself open to conversation. You will get some great service, some good service and some that could use improvement. You will visit some places that give you new things to think about and remember--though at times you may have to wait in line and not every single single thing you see will leave you staggeringly impressed.

Approached with this attitude I assure you that your trip will beat a party hands down.

Good luck, happy birthday, and happy cruising.

My husband and I just returned from the Norwegian Majesty Aug 11 sailing Boston to Bermuda . It was a first cruise for both of us and it was awesome. Just the two of us this trip but we are already planning to cruise again with our three older teens next year. I selected Norwegian for the freestyle dining and it met our needs very well.We celebrated our anniversery in LeBistro, which cost a little extra, but was worth every penny. The service in all of the restaraunts was supurb and our cabin, though small, was spotless and kept orderly by an extremely pleasant and efficient cabin stewardess. I'm glad that I didn't let the negative posts color my decision to book this trip. There was plenty of variety in the offered activities and we like the shows. My favorite was a cooking demonstration on our first day out and a movie trivia game. We are not casino or bingo people, but the folks were were seemed to enjoy it. I was looking forward to relaxing on deck with a book, but ended up not doing much reading, and returning home totalling relaxed.
Have a great time!!!!I'll watch this board for your impression upon your return.
SammmyM
NCL is good.

I've cruised the NCL SKY and when I compare it to Celebrity and Royal Caribbean I have to say it's in the same class. Don't worry and enjoy your trip. Just remember, with Free Style dining it is better to eat early. Better choice of tables and no waiting.

We sailed Norwegian once and had a great time. I wouldn't hesitate to sail them again in the future. In fact, my TA is a very big fan of NCL.

Be happy..don't worry!!

I sailed on the Norwegian Seaward which is presently called the Norwegian Sea back in '96' and it was a very nice experience for me.

Go and have a wonderful time on your cruise.

Two cruises with NCL (Norway and Sea). Loved 'em both. Won't hesitate to go NCL again. Go. Have fun. Enjoy.
