Paul Gaugin/Tahiti
Any suggestions as to best months of the year to go to Tahiti on Radison's Paul Gaugin? Aren't there some months when hurricanes are an issue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Dear Mo,
If I remember correctly, with Tahiti being so close to the equator, hurricanes are never a problem. I was there in June and July 2001 and had a wonderful cruise on R3. A balcony cabin for 14 days. French Polynesia is a beautiful part of the world. I think it sprinkled a couple days but I was always inside and it never affected me. The humidity at times is terrible though.
Hope both you and cheri have a great time.

Like MX, Hawaii and the Caribbean the best time to go is Winter. Of course, that is their winter which is our summer: June, July, August. I was there this past July and it was perfect: 80 to 85 during the day and 68 to 72 at nite. We experienced lite rain one day only as this is the dry season. Unless you are going soon I would wait for several months.

Beth,
Those of us in the U.S. have summer the same months as the Caribbean, Hawaii. The temps do not change much from winter to summer though, being so close to the equator. I wouldn't let the time of year keep me from either location. Enjoy! Keep on travelling!

July and August are the "dry' months -- not too much rain and humidity. It can be cool at night, but it's always perfect in the daytime. We were on the Paul Gauguin last August and it was the best vacation we have ever had. The ship is gorgeous, and the food and service are amazing. Have a wonderful time!

Sandy
