Party Ships?

I have travelled on Royal Caribbean in the past and want to try a more "fun" cruise line. I understand that the old reputation of being the "party" ships for Carnival is gone. What cruise line can you reccomend? We want to do Alaska this summer?

Bear in mind that Alaskan cruises tend to attract an older clientele. These cruies are more for sights and they are spectacular, than antics. That being said I agree about how CCL has changed since its inception. However you still may wnat to coinsider them. We cruised Alaska last Aug. on the Sapphire Princess and were very pleased. Carnival is still the most "party" cruise line, and they do have Alaska cruises. Like Larry said, Alaska is more for nature and sight than for partying. Depending on what's more important, you may also want to consider Caribbean cruises: those are more for party.

There are NO party ships sailing Alaska, including Carnival. I've taken Carnival there 3 times and passengers are similar on all lines with the bulk middle aged and above. Go for Alaska and what it has to offer.

We took a 3 nite RCCL cruise (with business group) Miami-Miami. No one did anything but drink - if you drink enough, maybe you can convince yourself you are in Alaska.

i have been on carnival a couple of times and i thought the entertainment was pretty good, especially the bands playing at night and the clubs. :)
