Pacific weather

We are considering a 15 day cruise from LA or San Diego to Hawaii and back. We have been on two Caribbean cruises and enjoyed the sea days lounging on the deck in the sun, which makes the idea of 10 days at sea inviting. I've been told that the Pacific can be cold, which would make the journey to/from Hawaii a disappointment. Has anyone taken this cruise, and how was the weather? Thanks for any advice.

While it's always difficult to predict the weather it would help if you mentioned the time of year you are planning to cruise. Even with that all you'll get is generalities.

Sorry, I should have indicated the time-frame. We are thinking about cruising to Hawaii in February or March 2007.

We did this type of cruise in Feb. I believe we had 4 days at sea, from Hawaii to Ensenada, Mexico.

Hate to disappoint you, but it was a huge mistake. Those days at sea, the temps were in the mid -low 60's---but, with the wind, to me, it seemed like fall temps. Too cold to be on deck.

I was sort of upset, because my TA didn't advise. Being from the midwest, we assumed anything CA-Mexico would be OK in winter.

I recommend a Hawaii/Tahiti cruise that time of year!

Just came back (1/15 -1/30) from this cruise on the Summit. You couldn't sit on the deck until the 3rd sea day. The weather was very warm in Hawaii but too busy to sunbathe there. The way back to LA we were going so fast the wind on deck was realy hard to take. We loved this cruise but didn't plan on lounging on the deck. If this is what you really enjoy I wouldn't do this cruise. I found the sea days esp 4 in a row very relaxing. The seas were calm with 4 to 8 ft swells for our cruise but the one before had 20 to 28 ft seas for most of the first 4 days. Kathy
