I receive Vacations To Go e-mails for both regular and river cruises. We contacted them once to book a cruise and the price was very good, but we ended up getting a better price with Costco Travel. Our last two cruises have been booked through them. However, I would not hesitate to deal with Vacations To Go and feel they are a reliable company.

I think so, but I'm not positive.

ADVERTISEMENT ALERT ABOVE.

I don't think VacationsToGo is the cheapest company - and yes, it is possible to get deep discounts close to the sailing time, I've been on one, and it was like any other cruise.

Just make sure, if you need to fly to the port, the flights get more expensive closer to the "due date".

Vacations To Go seems to have changed their strategy recently. They used to offer some very good deals, but now it seems like they're more of a retail player than they were in years past.

Many people on this board have good luck with http://www.cruisecompete.com where agents bid for your business.

www.priceline.com yielding best deals for me currently

far more transparent than www.vacationstogo.com

although have used them for 70% off deals in the past

with good results.

Looking for a 5-day - 7-day cruise for two. Who would have the best price. I usually get an inside cabin.

Have you considerd directly dealing with Carnival? We have cruised with them several times, and like them a lot. We almost always book an inside. You didn't say where you want to cruise. If it's the Caribbean, they have some good prices at the moment. If you're within driving distance of one of their ports, then it's really cheap since no air is required. Good luck.

1965: You'll always pay the highest rate possible if you book directly with the cruise line. Why pay more for the same cabin when you can use a travel agent and pay less?
