Open Seating on RCCL

Does open seating on RCCL for breakfast and lunch mean you can go into the dining room at any time or are there only certain dining areas that do this? Is open seating a buffet or sit down breakfast/lunch? Basically, I want to make sure I get my lox and bagels at breakfast!

Hi Nina,

The main restaurants have sit down waiter service for breakfast and lunch. Not guaranteed that you will have your lox and bagel on RCCL.

Paul

In the Windjammer Cafe thre was smoked salmon and other smoked fish delicacies available, but they were sort of hidden away, you had to ask the first time. Since the open seating service on the Brilliance of the Seas was so indifferent we preferred the new style stations at the Cafe

Nina:
I think there is confusion over the term, 'open seating'.
The term applies to breakfast and lunch in the main dining rooms. On most cruiseships where the main dining room is 'traditional', meaning assigned tables and seating times, there are no assigned tables or specific seating times for breakfast & lunch. So, for example, you can have breakfast in the main dining room any time between 7:30 & 10:30, and you will be seated at any avaiable table with other passengers.

Gee Paul - which cruise lines can gaurantee lox and bagels for breakfast? You're insinuating that RCCL can't (basically a negative for Nina) - so which line should she switch to to get the breakfast that she wants?
