Oasis Of The Seas

Has anybody been on this bad boy of a ship. Would love some honest opinions please :)

Looked on here - not sure how biased it is though http://www.cruise.co.uk/cruise-revie...s-of-the-seas/

You can try cruise critic for passenger reviews. There will be scores of them. I have read some and would like to try this ship or the Allure some day but for me the ports aren't too exciting, especially for the price. However in this case the ship itself seems to be the destination.

Thanks for the reply. I would be spending most of my time on board the ship, so I dont think the ports would pose that much of a problem

Well then that should be great. The ship is a wonder.

I too long to go on the Oasis or Voyager of the Seas. In Australia, we are unfortunately limited by what comes to our ports.

I've done a cruise but I would love to do a "monster ship"!

We've done western Caribbean on the Allure. Agree that the ports, Haiti (Labadee), Jamaica (Falmouth) and Cozumel were so so, though we liked Cozumel the best. Though it is pretty, I am not a fan of Labadee (private "island"-actually a secure enclave). Jamaica simply has too many overly agressive, churlish, and impolite guides and panhandlers. Been 3 times, and, if I went on a cruise docking there again I'd stay aboard ship.

The ship is magnificent, especially the "Central Park" promenade and, I surmise the "inside" balcony staterooms that overlook the promenade and are open air. The Allure is large, but does not feel crowded. The staterooms are large, though not as large as some other RCI ships, such as the Independence.

Many of the features are typical of RCI including the specialty restaurants and the casual Windjammer. Food was no worse and no better than other RCI cruises. Service better than most. Best feature available in the class: you may, and should, reserve theater seatings well before you set sail.

Enjoy your cruise, whenever you take it.

I have sailed Oasis once and Allure twice. I liked the entertainment on Allure better. We don't get off the ship much, we sail for the ship and it is amazing.i never felt crowded at all.

Went on the Oasis shortly after it launched in 2010. It was fabulous and the trip of a lifetime. The ship is WOW, even 7 days is not enough time to do everything.

Definitely make dinner and show reservations ahead of time. Don't miss any of the shows, they are all spectacular, especially the water show. My jaw was open the whole time.

The beef sandwiches in Park Cafe in Central Park are enough to make me want to go back! They are amazing.

We had an oceanview balcony and it was a nice size room and not noisy at all. The other balcony overlook the boardwalk and central park neighborhoods so you lose privacy and I hear they are noisy. We actually saw a strapless woman on her central park view balcony on the very first day.. I didn't think she realized anyone could see her at first because then after that we never saw her out again.

All of the pools are very nice, I especially liked the saltwater OR chlorine pool, covered hot tubs and then the whole solarium adult area.

You never feel like you are cruising with 5,000 other people until there is a show letting out or parade in the promenade.

The food and service was outstanding though. This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise, we had cruised several times previously with Carnival (and one time after that, just this past fall) and we will never go back to Carnival again when we know how much more we can get with RC.

I would definitely cruise the Oasis again and look forward to sailing the Allure one day too.
