did anyone travel on the jade 4/10-4/22. 2009 if so what did you think of the cruise. any excursions?

Have not cruised on the Jade, but will be going on the Gem.. and I have it from a very close source on the Jade that the Jade and the Gem are the two best ships in the line..GO!!

We are traveling on the Jade Dec 8, 2009. So would appreciate any helpful hints regarding shore excursions and guides in Athens, Rome and Egypt.

What about Jewel?

That is al I remember she mentioned the G em and the Jade..I don't remember if she mentined the Jewel, but check out the reviews. Somebody just came back from the Jade who is rather picky and said it more than "met her expectations".. haven't heard back from her yet

We took a Mediterranean cruise on the Jade last year starting from Barcelona and ending in Istanbul. We did not take any of NCL's shore excursions. We did most of the places on our own except for Izmir and Istanbul where we booked private day tours thru a travel agency based in Istanbul. The tours cost much less vs. comparable ones offered by NCL. The tour guide and driver met the 3 of us shipside in a car and we proceeded to have a quiet and more leisurely excursion.
