Need good hotel in Civitavecchia for one night before cruise
I've checked other sites and read recommendations, I'd like to hear the latest from cruisers who have stayed in Civitavecchia for one night before boarding the ship.
the Traiano sounds fine but does it still have any air-conditioning issues since we're travelling in August? |
Yes the Traiano has air conditioning. The Tarconte was nice but don't think they had a shuttle. We did take a cab to the ship.

check with the cruise liners if they allow early boarding. Some ships open their gates a day or two before departure date. You could save yourself some money.
|
Did you ever find a good hotel in Civitavecchia? I'm faced with the same problem.
|
I do not know of ANY ship which will allow you to board "a day or two before departure."
Be aware that the actual berthing area at Civitavecchia is extensive and it will probably behoove you to take a taxi from your hotel to the ship itself. You can probably walk it to at least the port entrance as the landscape is fairly flat but your ship may be berthed much further on. |
If you are flying into FCO best to stay around there
Marriott Courtyard is nice...have stayed there Also Aran Blu is super nice at Lido Roma. Best deal for me recently especially if you want to see Rome is www.hotwire.com for $69 has the South Rome Sheraton Roma 4* airport shuttle 5 euro between FCO and Rome join www.spg.com for upgrades to suites for free super hotel. Head up to the port no great hotels from there... Happy Journey, |
