I am wondering too. I've noticed that it has replaced the "Norway" as their cheapest cruise on most web sites. In fact, on many web sites it is THE cheapest cruise of ANY line featuring 7 day cruises.

I am going on the Wind Nov 22-29, 2003 and will let you know. I haven't heard to many good things either, but went of the Norwegian Sea March 2003 and it was great. I'm going on the Wind because it was cheap and I wanted to go to Belize and Roatan.

I just got back from a trip on the Norwegian Wind to the Western Carribean. I am suprised at all the negative reviews I read cause I thought it was great! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, there is plenty of entertainment going on and everything is very clean. If you go towards the back of the ship you do get the diesel smell but its not overwhelming, and as I said its only towards the very back of the ship. The food is good, although the steak is tough, but everything else is yummy. There is no buffet 24 hrs. per day. The restaurants last seating is at 10pm and after that you can only get room service -- there menu is very limited but there chicken ceaser salad and pizza is good. The Italian Restaurant is the best and the deserts are the best I have ever had. And they give you plenty, so save room. Every morning we would call room service for coffee and juice and it would arrive in 10 minutes. The drink prices are not outrageous. I think we paid for a bucket of beer(6 beers)about $16. If your looking to watch football at the sports bar - forget it! They only have soccer on TV. But they do have a good buffet breakfast and lunch. We had a room with a balcony which was great. Every morning we would sit outside and have our coffee We did some shore excursions. In Honduras we went to the Lobster Lunch with David ???? You will see it advertised on TV as places to see while there. I would recommend it. In Belize we did the two city tour which I would also recommend. Our friends did the submarine dive in Cozumel and enjoyed that and of course if you like to Scuba there is plenty.
Hope this helps you guys out. I would not believe all the negative stuff that you read. I would definately go back and do another cruise on NCL.

To loosegoose. Just back from NCL Wind 11/22 to 11/29/03 and I had a great time! Latitude check in was very quick, we drove from Jupiter to Miami and missed the baggage check in so we took our own bags to our room 9014 on International deck and unpacked an were off. Our cabin was a little worn but adequate and had a huge picture window. I know a lot of people complained about sewage smells but we only smelled a wift outside on the aft deck towards the pool once. I never smelled diesel fuel.I thought the food was very good, the service was good, courteous and quick. The breakfasts in the Four Seasons were excellent! The only shore excursion we took was the one in Belize and it was great! The Old Belize River Tour and Alta Hun Ruin. I had no complaints and I would recommend and go again, but my husband would not. He did not like Freestyle dining and thought the food was not all the great. He likes Celebrity and Princess. The only entertainment we went to see was the Hawaiian Cowboy and he was pretty funny. We went 2 nights to the lounge that had a disco party and an Elvis night and they were fun. As for the previous post regarding football, we saw the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay games in our cabin. I was happy! I'm a football freak! Any other questions I can answer you can post here or email me. Have fun! I did! I made a mistake on the ship I went on in March 03 it was the Majesty not the Sea.
