Nasca flight in Pisco

Hello Foderites, We are planning to do a flight to see the Nasca lines from Pisco. We only have one day there, (cruise ship stop) and have quotes from two companies, Alasperuanas and also from Nasca Flights.
They both seem equal, same price more or less, same type of 12 seater aircraft, but the difference comes in the transfer cost.
With Nasca flights they want $80US for each person to be picked up at the cruise terminal to get to the airport. If you are in Pisco the transfer is free , and the cruise terminal is only 20 minutes away.

Alasperuanas charges $70 per car. They say they only charge the price because the terminal imposes that fee on any cars going there.

That is why there are very few taxis there, and why we can't just do our own thing when we get there.

The flight itself is already $280 each, but I think that $80 per person transfers is just taking advantage. Trouble is, we can't find any reviews on Alasperuanas. Well, one, but you can't just rely on just one review.
All the reviews seem to be about the lines themselves, not the companies that fly over them.

Anyone have any experience with either of these companies? I will also post this on the Peru forum too. Thanks very much.

I forgot who we did the flight with but it was great but we did not do the Nazca line form a cruise stop.

Not sure how you get the $80 per person transfer. I thought you said $70 per car and the car can probably transport 4 passengers, and I'll assume that it is return trip so it is really $35 one way, or about $10 per person one way.

Yes, thanks. One company charges 80 per person and the other 70 per car. We decided to go with Alasperuanas. Thanks for you feedback

I would recommend watching some of the online videos re Nazca lines (quite a bit from National Geographic). They run a film at the Nazca airport but I'm not sure what they do for the Pisco and Ica flights.

The flight is over all too quickly, you pay a lot, and it helps to have in mind what you'll be looking at.

Thank you MLGB. The company we are going with also shows a video while you are waiting apparently. Because we are flying from Pisco the flight is 90 minutes. This is something that is on my list, having read 'Chariots of the Gods' in the seventies. My friends did it a few years ago in a tiny plane from Nasca, but from Pisco they use 12 seaters. They loved it. It is very expensive but I will never get the opportunity again so decided to go for it.
