Must sees on Celebrity Eclipse - Southern Caribbean

Hi there,
we will be visiting the following ports and would like your suggestions for must sees and dos while there.( I am listing the ports we have not visited before.)
Any suggestion for the Eclipse would also be appreciated. We have been on Sillhouette and Equinox before.
We prefer to do our own thing but will do a ship tour when necessary. We like to sight see for part of the day and relax at beach, shops etc. the rest of the day. Once off the ship, we stay off until very late.

Oranjestad , Aruba
Willemstad, Curacao
St Georges, Grenada
Bridgetown, Barbados
Castries, St Lucia
St Johns, Antigua

Thanks in advance
Donna

For St. Lucia I highly recommend

This guy we used in Antigua and like Spencer in St. Lucia I recommend Gordon for Antigua. Both are super. You can tailor your tours and soft drinks and local beer is included in your tours and some refreshments too.

Sounds good.

Youre welcome. Sounds like a great cruise. Do U embark from San Juan?

Magpies Aug 4th, 2013 03:02 AM

No we leave from Fort Lauderdale. We also visit St Thomas and St Maarten which we have been to before.
We will be flying from Las Vegas to FL the day before the cruise leaves. We are from Australia and have left from FL a few times now.
Thanks for your help

You are asking for lots of general information about 6 different islands and almost all of the information is readily available in great detail on various websites. A simple google search using topics like "Things to do on NAME OF ISLAND)" will bring uplinks for all the Points of Interest on every one of those islands.

Another hint: Go to the Caribbean Forums on TripAdvisor, click on the islands you'll be visiting. Use the "Things to Do" dropdown menu on each page. You be directed to a list of the activities and points of interest on that island - all will be sorted by "rating" and all will have scores if not hundreds of reviews so you can read all about the pros/cons of each place.

St. Maarten is a wonderful island. As you know its half French, half Dutch and we had a nice time them as well. We used:

I also highly recommend her.

Yu can get a nice overview of thses islands from the tour guides recommended and ask away for anything more. Glad to help.

Larry. :-)

Thanks again Larry.
I have checked out the recommendations you gave and will book in the near future. They look fantastic. As I said on the other forum, there are times when you do need to do a tour and other places you can do your own thing and just get a taxi.
We don't want to miss out on anything important.
It is good to have first hand information and experiences.
We do have a bit of time up our sleeves ( Dec 28 departure ).
IF I have any more questions I will let you know
Thanks again
Donna

No problem. The people I mentioned are knowledgable about their islands and I think if you email them and tell them what you would like to do it should be fine.

If you go with them perhaps you can mention my name, esp. to Gordon and Spencer. :-)

No worries.
Thanks Larry I will definitely let them know you were the one who recommended them.
Thanks
Donna
