Murder on the High Sea
Not even sure how I would react if I come across this while on a cruise. Although Princess Cruises is offering everyone a $150 OBC for the delay due to the incident, they really have nothing to do with it or have any type of control over it.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/n...727-story.html Back in 2001, a crew member were killed while we were on Board the Carnival Sensation and the whole atmosphere after the accident was morbid. The poor fellow was cleaning the elevator shaft on the feature elevator and somehow, the elevator came down on top of him. There were no public announcement but the word spread like wild fire in no time. |
In 2006 we were on the smallish Tahitian Princess and an elderly woman passed away late one night. As the ship had only about 700 passengers word did spread. It was three generational family trip but everyone except the son and her husband stayed on board. We saw the poor fellow a few times. He looked lost poor fellow. :(.

You would be surprised how many people pass away on cruise ships. Most are from natural causes. Most are kept in refrigeration until the next port. No announcements, but rumors circulate. I have seen many people taken off the ship followed by family members disembarking.

I have seen the medical facilities in a cruise ship. They can store about a dozen bodies which is a decent size capacity. I have been told that people went on a cruise so they can die "happy". The ship's doctor that I talk to said it is more common than most people think.
In this case, They were on holidays, celebrating a wedding anniversary. Something or someone just snapped? |
Maybe silly, but I would not like to be a passenger staying in that room where a murder was committed.
Do wonder what she was laughing at? Good lesson. Do not laugh at your husband. |
I heard on I think it was ABC world news a comment by someone familiar with them that "I knew he would do this."
In any case it's tragic especially for the kids. :(. |
Sass, I am with you on that one. I wouldn't want to stay in that cabin either. But with people dying on cruise ships, it is just "unavoidable"?
Depending on religion, maybe one should carry a cross, a bible or whatever holy symbol, holy book or ghost busting devices ... LOL |
An interesting story just came out ... there was a murder mystery event on board the ship and a lot of people originally thought that was part of the "show". It also came out that they were travelling with an extended family and the 3 kids were all there ... it is really a sad sad story. :(
