MSN made me so angry!!!
Written by a fool who never been on a cruise :(

It seems to me that anyone who reads that moronic article and decides to not go on a cruise was not going to go anyway and was looking for any excuse. Intelligent readers know alarmist rhetoric when they read it so I wouldn't bother getting yourself worked up over this silliness.
There is one very positive effect that could result from this. It might talk a number of those silly people out of going on a cruise you have your eye on, Dayenu. Think of the annoying company you'll be spared. |
Dayenu, it was so silly, it was funny. No point dignifying any of it with a rebuttal. Didn't sound as if the writer had ever even been on a ship, just quoting from other non-cruisers and a few news articles.
The writer should look at schools if they really want to see Petri dishes of germs and bad food. Yet, we send our kids there everyday. I started making my young students wish their hands as they came into the classroom and sprayed my HS desks with cleaner before each class, so the kids had to wipe down and wash before they started work. Ships seem absolutely hygienic by comparison. |
MmePerdue I agree with you. There are a lot more articles similar to that one. True cruisers don't believe things like that. For the Fodornites keep enjoying life and keep cruising .
|
(:(:, cheers up. We love cruising.
|
To me that article borders on satire. :S-.
Right below it are three cruise positive articles too. Pretty silly. |
Those 14 reasons are hogwash. and can apply to travel anywhere by any means.
Besides, around 22 to 24 million people take cruises every year. If you add up the number of people negatively affected by the untoward incidents listed in the article it's just a tiny fraction of the whole number. Cruising is no more or less "dangerous" than other forms of vacation travel. The author probably should just lock him/herself in a hermetically sealed sterile room and never leave. |
The threat of sunshine causing cataracts was really silly. It takes decades for this to develope and if you wear sunglasses with UV protection you greatly diminish this slight chance.

#14 No communication. That is actually a good thing, The teenagers can't do their social media stuff on their cell phones, they actually have to have real interaction with real people.
|
Unfortunately, not satire.
Oh, well, more cabins for cruise lovers :) |
May have even been written by an SEO company. A lot of links within the article. No real traveler/cruiser would write an article like that!
