MSC cruises
We love cruising. Have used Princess, Grand Circle, Orient Line, Louis Line, and Carnival. Except for Louis, we thoroughly enjoyed, had great experiences on them all. We've never used MSC. In fact, I just learned of its existence from a friend. Can anyone share info. on MSC, compare them to other lines? Thanks

Never took them but have read a lot of reviews. Generally their ratings are a notch below the other mass market line in terms of food, and especially service.

check www.cruisecritic.com and you can find lots of reviews and information. British friends of our took one cruise and said "never again". Not your general "American-type" cruise line. Depends on what you like and how flexible you are. Please do some more research.

Charli-Took your advice and read several reviews on CC. Oh my goodness-MSC is definately not for us. Thanks!

I would also think hard about Costa as well. Their reviews are also pretty spotty. I think you will be safe with HAL and RCI as well as Princess. I like CCL too but do stick with the newer ships.

They have beautiful ships inside, but that is all. Not made for the average American cruiser, as far as food, entertainment, and service. yuk!

3/4 of my searches and replies in postings have been not just negative, but pretty strongly negative. We are used to the great service, food, friendliness of crew and staff we get with the tried and true cruise lines. We are definately going to pass on offers from MSC.

Several yrs. ago there was a story inre to MSC which made intl. news. A family in the US planned a reunion cruise in Europe on MSC. They had paid fort he cruise and air. MSC abruptly cancelled their cruise with a cruise refund. As it turns out MSC booked a larger group for a bigger cost so this family was simply kicked off B4 they ever got on. They were stuck with the air farfe issue to deal with on their own. After hearing this it will never be MSC for me.
