Most Casual Dining Options for Alaska Cruise?

My husband and I are considering going on an Alaska cruise. I was wondering which cruise line has the most options for casual dining? Are jeans acceptable for casual dining? We would just like to eat wherever we want without worrying about what we wear. I just don't want to bother with packing formal wear.

Most of the lines (if not all) offer casual dining. You do not have to go to the dining room if you want to dress casually. You can dine in the Lido restaurant which is buffet style and also set up to order from the menu with table service (in the evening) During the day it is buffet but the dining room is certainly casual for breakfast and lunch so if you choose to order from the menu jeans are quite acceptable at that time. The cruise lines have found that there are many passengers like yourselves who don't want to dress up and have acted accordingly. Just go and enjoy yourselves!

Buffet or room service.

Oppsss... sorry! I meant on formal nights. On regular nights jeans are fine.

We have been on several warm-water cruises and an Alaska cruise on Princess. "Formal night" meant far less on Alaska cruise than any other destination or line. For women, a pair of lightweight silky pants and a nice top would have easily been acceptable. Or any dress of any kind, except perhaps a sundress. Men wore dress shirt, ties - and only about 1/3 even a jacket. (And obviously some sort of dress pants).

So while this did not answer your question directly, do not think you have to go packing a suit for husband and space-hogging formal wear for you.
