Hotel with Cruise Shuttle Service
 

Hi,

I need guide about hotel booking with cruise shuttle service. Do we have to shift in Hotel for 2 days before cruise departure?

I am not sure what you mean.

How many days ahead of the cruise do you plan to stay before embarking?

Why would you shift hotels?

Please explain.

I mean should i shift to any Miami hotel before embarkation day. we are in Nashville. We have stay in any Miami hotel before embarkation. So i thought i should ask for help that which hotel is best for stay and provide shuttle sevice in Miami.

I think it’s always a good idea to stay in a hotel overnight or maybe for a couple of days before you actually embark. You don’t have to and many people do not. Many people fly in the same day. That is up to you.
As for what hotels offer free shell service I think many probably do but you would have to research that and simply make some calls or get on their website and see if they do that.
I think we took a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale and the hotel we stayed in overnight did have a shuttle service to the ship.

There are a number of hotels near the Miami Cruise Port that offer shuttle service. Most of these charge a small fee (depending on distance about $12 to $15/person) for the service. Hotels that don't offer shuttle service will generally have cabs available that you can hire. Do an internet search for "Miami Cruise Port Hotels with Shuttle Service" and you'll find plenty of links to hotels in all price ranges - you can easily pick the hotel that best fits your travel style and budget.. Also, check with your cruise line, most, if not all, offer Pre-Cruise Hotel Packages which include transfers from the hotel to the cruise port and, if arriving Miami by plane, from the airport to the hotel. FYI - In most instances you can also have your cruise line arrange for Post-Cruise Hotel and transfer service. If I recall from your previous post you are cruising on a Royal Caribbean ship, they offer this type of service.

I hope you'll okay. I just need help to choose the best one for 2 day stay with shuttle service. Can you recommend which one offer top notch service for stay and things to do near them.

1. InterContinental hotel is 1.7 miles from Port Miami.
2. JW Marriott Marquis is1.8 miles from the port.
3. Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton is about 2.7 miles from the Miami cruise port.

Spouse & I have stayed at the Intercontinental numerous times. It's a terrific high-end luxury hotel with full amenities, several on site dining options and excellent service. It's in a great location with parks, numerous restaurant, shops and a marina (for luxury yachts) all within walking distance. It's our "go to" hotel when staying in Miami either before or after cruises and flights. I don't believe the hotel offers shuttle service to the cruise port (you should check with the hotel just to be sure) but there are always ample taxis waiting in front of the hotel - just ask the doorman to hail you a taxi. If I recall the taxi fare to the cruise port is about $16 to $18.

The JW Marriott Maquis is in a nice area only a short distance (maybe 1/4 to 1/2 mile) from the Intercontinental but on the other side of a very busy main thoroughfare so not as easily walkable to the parks, restaurants, shops and marina by the Intercontinental. To be fair, there are a couple of restaurants within walking distance of the JW Marriott. It is an upscale hotel with plenty of amenities and full service. I'm pretty sure the JW Marriott does not offer shuttle service to the cruise port (you can check directly with the hotel to be sure) but like the Intercontinental taxis are readily available. The fare would be in the same general range as from the Intercontinental.

The Hampton Inn & Suites is in a more commercial area and is nowhere near the same class (think 3-star vs 4-1/2 to 5 star for the others) as far as amenities and service that you'll the find at the Intercontinental or JW Marriott. The rooms are comfortable but nothing special and the hotel offers only basic amenities. They do offer a free breakfast (but again nothing special) but no other food service. The one plus is that I'm pretty sure the hotels does have a shuttle service to the cruise port (again check with the hotel before booking just to be sure).

If you are looking for "top notch service" and nearby things to do Pick either the Intercontinental (my 1st choice) or the JW Marriott Marquis (2nd choice), skip the Hampton Inn & Suites.

According to this website, the Intercontinental does not offer a cruise port shuttle service. It also does not seem like the Marriott offers one since one of their websites mentions an Uber voucher. If you stay in the Brickell Area then it should be only $15 or so to take a taxi or Uber, so I wouldn't pick a hotel based on shuttle service. Most of the shuttles are not free, and are often contracted with third parties. By the time you pay for two people, it will cost less to hire a private taxi.

I agree that it's usually a good idea to fly in the night before a cruise and stay near the port. You can store your luggage there and sight see the morning of the cruise. You don't really need two nights. Usually cruises don't start boarding until lunchtime. So you can fly in the day before, drop your luggage or check in, and see some things that afternoon and the next morning.

From your other posts, it sounds like you have no experience cruising, I will again recommend joining your Roll Call on Cruise Critic. You can read the Boards about Royal Caribbean and Port of Miami, and ask questions of people who will be on your cruise via the Roll Call Feature. There is also a Board for New Cruisers. (You will need to join and login to be able to access the Boards).

okay i got your point. If the service is good enough for 2 day stay we can compromise the shuttle service. I'll join the othe boards too. I also came across the link you attached. i have also read the other blogs. They were sayig they provide shuttle but it cost extra. Right now I'm unable to attach/insert any link here. So, I'm gonna search again. Thank you for your help
