Miami airport to seaport
 

Hi,

We will be cruising on Navigator of the Sea in Oct & choose the 2nd seating for dinner, will we miss all the nightly shows? Also, what is the best way & how long is the ride from Miami airport to seaport? There will be 4 of us travelling. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

Each dinner seating has its own time for shows. Generally the late seating will have their show after dinner around 10:30 or so. You won't have to miss them!!

Miami port is not that far away from airport. Depending on how many pieces of lugage will determine transportation. I know Royal Caribbean provides transportation for a very small fee. Super Shuttle service is another good option, after picking up lugage, walk outside , same level and look for super shuttle booths.

There is no need for cruise line transportation in Miami. For flat rate $18 plus tip, you get taxi for 4 and it takes about 15 min. You will waste a lot more time waiting for RCCL bus to fill up.

I totally agree with happycruiser. Take the cab. They all charge the same price. It will be posted on the window of the cab and the $18 is for the cab, not per person.
As you leave the terminal they'll be waiting for you so there is zero wait time.
If you use the cruise line transport you'll have to wait until the bus is full, wait while they dig your luggage out from everyone elses, etc. Plus, if you use the cruise line, their fee is per person.
Cabs are by far the fastest, cheapest option. :)

Thanks to all of your suggestions, I will definitely take a cab to the seaport. Cruise ship transfer was $35. per person!! Do you know approx.how long is the ride to the port? thanks again

The entire ride should not take more than about 20 minutes. The cabbies don't waist any time since they want to return as quickly to service as possible to pick up their next fare. Only thing that would slow you down is traffic, but I doubt we've ever spent more than 20 minutes total.
I'd recommend the same for returning to the airport. The cabs line up where you'll be getting off the ship and will quickly get you to the airport for the same fare.
