MC to Port Canaveral Transfers
What is the cheapest was to get from Orlando airport to the dock at Port Canaveral?
Need to transport five people and luggage. Cruise transports will run me $40 per person - $200 total. Are there any private transports that will run me less than $100 for five people? Steve |
You might want to try a rental car or van. We are getting a great price through Enterprise for our transfer from the airport (from Houston) wto the part. They are waiving the drop-off fee. We are paying less than $40. It is close to the port so after we drop off the car they are giving us a ride to the ship. Here is a website that gives the 800 numbers for a bunch of rental car agencies: http://www.airportrentals.us/resourc...ee_numbers.php

oops - I meant "to the port", not "wto the part"! Sorry, I think I've been on this computer too long.

Thanks...
Also found that Avis with my corp discount is at $40 for the day, including drop off. Works great because we can use the car to get the the overnight hotel, then to the dock in the morning. Stash |
Hi,
It is a long drive, about an hour, from the airport in Orlando to Port Canaveral, so the prices are going to be higher than most other ports. But, I would recommend doing the cruise line's transfers between airport and port because you can avoid the tollway, Beeline, and long lines onto the tollway. They will take care of your luggage for you and deliver it to your stateroom. You do not need to purchase the cruise line's airfare. You might also check with Tiffany Town Cars or Mears for towncar transfers and/or shuttle motorcoach transportation. Those companies have reasonable rates and good service. Of course, you can do a rental car, but you would be paying a weekly rate (unless you did a one-way rental and would need to allow time to get between rental car return and cruise ship). You would only be using the car for 2 of the 7 days and that might not be the best value for your money. Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions! Best Regards, Julia |
jelzie - It is still way cheaper to rent a car for 5 people. You only have to rent it for 24 hours and do a one-way drop off and then get free transportation from the car rental agency to the port, if the rental place is less than about 10 miles from the port (depending on the agency). It is definatly they way to go if you have more than a couple people.
