Mayan Excursion - Majahual

Princess changed our port of call on our Panama Canal cruise from Cozumel to a place called Majahual. Has anyone been on a tour of Mayan ruins from Majahual? What do you recommend?

This stop is usually refered to as Costa Maya. I will be there in a little over two weeks. I have a trip booked with David and Ivan to the ruins at Chaccohoben [?]. They come highly recommeded from other cruise passengers. Hope this helps.

We never go on ship'd tours. Go to chacchobenruins.com. You will find Ivan & David here. Their tour is the one to take! Check my post about Costa Maya which I just wrote.

It depends on your interests, but we loved it there. It is unspoiled and more than likely the way all the old Mexican towns looked prior to becommng comercialized. There is a tiny beach but excellent snorkelling by the locals if your are interested. There are 45 minutes massages on the beach for $25.00 Beers are cheap. It is an interesting experience so I thought.

Beers are cheap? I couldn't find one for less than $3. I hated this port and wished I had stayed on the ship. ((b))

Budman,

And on the ship you were able to get a beer for less than $3.00??? As we recall we paid $2.00 a bottle. Perhaps it was $3.00.

Thanks for your advice. We didn't realize that Costa Maya and Majahual were virtually the same place. Shore excursions get expensive and we wanted to make sure that it would be worth our while. We may give David and Ivan a try. Thanks for the website.
