Mariner of the seas question!

I am considering a cruise on this ship and I have been on a voyage class ship before (Navigator) but when we got on board it turned out that there wasn't a childrens only pool like it said on the deck plan in the brochure which turned out be of voyager of the seas.
So my question is does any know if this has the children pool on it and if so what is it like?
Any other information regarding this ship would be helpful too!

We were on the Mariner this last Oct. and I don't remember seeing a children's pool, but then I wasn't looking for it either.
I don't know what info you'd like, but this was one of our favorite cruises.
More for itinerary than anything else. We like the days at sea and we had 3 as we had to skip Cococay due to weather.
The ship is standard RCI. We hadn't been on one w/the promenade before so that was fun for us. If you have specifics let me know I might be able to help.

There is no children's pool on the this particular RCL ship; there is an adult pool under the solarium.

Personally , I don't recommend this ship; was on this back in Sept. Not a great cruise, mostly with the service. I think this ship is too big for RCL; over 1000 feet long, and has over 3000 guests, staffing is not up to the task of handling this many guests. Too many problems and lack or total disregard for your needs was common through out.

I'll give you a for instance. We were travelling with a group of 12; at dinner, we were waited on by a waiter and two asistants. A table for four gets a waiter and one assistant, we had eight extra people and one additional assistant. They tried too but had trouble keeping up with the table and therefore service was very slow. It wasn't just us, several of the larger group tables also experiened the same level of service.

This was a family reunion type cruise which consisted of my mother and father, brother and his wife and 2 ds, sister and her fiance, my husband, 2 kids and myself. When we booked, and we did several conference calls to get all out rooms as close together as possible. My husband and I wanted out 2 daughters in the cabin with us so we opted for an owner's suite (the family suite is booked up years in advance as i'm told) Everyone else took a Jr Suite, and my brother opted to pay extra for an inside cabin directly across from their cabin for my niece and nephew. After several calls to reservations and on line we got it all together, so we thought. The day we arrived, My suite was upgraded to a Grand Suite, or penthouse suite, on deck ten, my parents were on deck seven , my brother and sister were both given the cabins they wanted, but my niece and nephew were upgraded also to a similiar suite I was in. That was great for a 14 and 17 year old to have a room bigger then everyone else. When my brother tried to get he and his wife into the same suite so they'd be together, the ship refused and did the opposite, downgraded thier kids into their jr Suite. I guess the inside cabin they booked was then given to other passengers who checked in before us. There was no other cabins on board, bit the Suite the kids were upgraded too remained empty. My brother is still fighting with RCL to get the fare for the inside cabin refunded.

There were others, but I won't boor you any longer. RCL is a great line, having taken them out of Vancouver and Los Angeles before. As I mentioned, I thonk its the ship.

We sailed Mariner 3x;s last year. Just booked (9/2/07). We love this ship. Each person's experience and expectations are so different. No child's pool. Gret program for kids.

I sailed the Mariner twice and absolutely loved it. We sailed the Freedom this february and loved it as well. Never have I seen so many activities for every age group and taste! The entire "H20 Zone" is a kid's delight. It's adjcent to, but separated somewhat from the adult pool, making it very easy to supervise their kids while enjoying the pool music, activities and bars. GREAT concept.

I am not a fan of RCI's big ships as I like adult oriented cruising but I agree that the big ships of RCI are perfect for families and kids. Freedom does have a dedicated kids pool as will Liberty when she debuts this month.

These ships are totally family oriented and provide a great deal of activities for all age grops.

Forgot to mention....I enjoyed the ship so much, I never got off in port! I thought they handled crowds very well- never had a problem with a chair or a seat at a show and the gym was never crowded. The only time I waited was getting off the ship...very slow. We were on Caribbean princess the year before and thought it was SO crowded in every venue. We missed a lot of activities due to crowding. Poor design.
