Not necessarly. Depends on where you go, for how long, what cruise line. Spring breaks are in April in some states.

We took our 9 and 7 year old on a cruise in March one year. It was the best family vacation we had taken to that point. We went on the Grand Princess and loved everything about it.

What cruise line are you looking at?

If I remember my college spring break days we were looking for cheap digs and plentiful drinks...

No, you're not crazy! Cruises are great for kids and families! The cruise lines have these fantastic programs for kids (parents often have to drag them to bed) and there are kid-friendly menus, computers, movies, several swimming pools. Lots of other kids and they have lots of fun. The program staff is great - certified, backgrounds checked and love kids (many are teachers, have recreation backgrounds, etc). Then, parents can go to the spa, take a nap, read a book, relax - even parents get a spring break on a cruise!

Spring break was a problem about 20 years ago and the cruise lines really tightened up the rules. No one under age 21 (unless married) can stay in a stateroom unless accompanied by someone over age 25. Now, spring break college students go somewhere else besides cruises.

Best Regards,
Julia

I think you still need to be careful to avoid College age spring breakers. My friends & were on Celebrity's Zenith in early March last year & the ship was mostly college kids. We're 45-50 yo and have kids that age ourselves so they didn't bother us. But we felt sorry for the families w/younger kids who were stuck w/a bad situation with glass inthe pools & crazy drunk, lewd kids everywhere.
