Looking for the cruise of a lifetime
 

Hi. My college friends and I take a huge group trip every year and this year I am in charge...ugh!! I am looking for a cruise for 8 fun energetic adventurous people from 25-30 years old. What I am looking for is a cruise that will show us things and have the opportunity for us to do things we never dreamed we would do. We are looking at about a 6-7 night cruise ANYWHERE. Carribean, Italy, Spain, whatever. I am looking for uniquness, beauty and fun. This group just got back from a cattle drive in new mexico so we are up for whatever!! We are looking at a summer trip (next summer). If you could help me out with your insight I would be most appreciative. Thanks!

Marty, I think you would enjoy either the Carnival Pride, Destiny or the RCCL Voyager or Explorer with the rock climbing wall, skating rink, basketball court, etc. Do the big, big ships and that will be the best part of the vacation. Research the ports very well and you can find some great adventures outside of the side trips provided by the cruise line.I have always wanted to bring a large group on a cruise- you can do your own thing or be together as much or as little as you like. I think you will have a ball!

I would recommend the WINDSURF (part of Windstar cruise lines)- they are 5 masted SAILING ships and are upscale casual- BUT they go into unusual ports because they are smaller and the back end of the ship flips down and becomes a marina in port with water skiing,kayaking, and windsurfing-all free as part of the cruise-<BR>In addition the food is fabulous and the EUROPEAN ports are to die for--<BR>Do the MEDITERRANEAN cruise-ROME TO NICE and you will have a fabulous time!<BR>Some friends of mine in their early 30's went last summer and loved it!<BR>There is not much to do at nite except for a small casino and a bar with a trio that plays great music.<BR>THis is TOTALLY different from the huge ships---It is NOT geared for singles-MOSTLY couples go on it.

You didn't mention if money was an object here (which is usually the problem for a cruise of a lifetime).<BR>Tahiti is definitley something to look into if you can afford the airfare as it sometimes can be just about the same if not more than the cruise itself. One more suggestion is a cruise around Australia, another cruise of a lifetime experience. I don't think I would consider the Caribbean one of those experiences because it is some place that is very accesible at any time. Go somewhere GREAT, see something that you wouldn't ordinarily see.<BR>Hope you find what you are looking for out there.

Agree with Toto... while I love the Carribean, a Carribean cruise is a rather pedestrian experience, not what I would consider "the cruise of a lifetime". If you are looking for truly unique experiences, you might start looking at some smaller ship lines or even expedition ships. Consider destinations like the Galapagos, Costa Rica, the Seychelles, Tahiti. Good luck!
