Looking for info on Cruises-N-More
 

Hi,

I'm in the search process for the best price on a Mediterranean cruise. Has anyone dealt with Cruises-N-More? Did they offer good service?

I just booked a cruise with them for an E. Carib. trip in Feb. They seem good so far. I notice that the prices are a little better on cruisecenter so I may try them next time.

I booked with them for 3 cruises.I was very satisfied with the price and the service they offered.

These guys are a very reputable agency--they'll take good care of you.

They have been the cheapest for me on our last 2 cruises. Call in as well as price online as the large internet agency also does group bookings with additional cabin credit not always advertised. No complaints.

I've booked a couple of times with Cruises-N-More. They are a volume discounter with NCL, I know. Always great service.

Also, I started using a website, cruisecompete.com which allows you to enter your cruise info (including sail dates, etc.) and it goes out to travel agents to bid on your business. I have received some excellent quotes by using them. Additionally, Cruises-N-More is usually always the lowest bidder among the other bidders. Even lower than the price they quote you initially if you just call them. If another agent's price is lower than their bid, they will do their best to beat it. I'm currently planning an Alaskan cruise for this summer and trying to decide which itinerary to choose on NCL. The choices are roundtrip from Vancouver and roundtrip from Seattle. Anyone have any input?

Hi Anthony, check out the message boards at www.cruisecritic.com message boards for info about cruising NCL out of those 2 ports. If one of the ships you're looking at is the NCL Dream do a lot of research on it as the ship had terrible engine problems in Alaska this last season which limited the number of ports visited. We have only sailed RT out of Seattle but from what I've read the departures out or northern Alaska one way that end in Seattle or Vancouver are the best.

Thanks for the input. The 2006 season in Alaska with NCL includes 2 roundtrip voyages out of Seattle (Star, Sun) and one roundtrip out of Vancouver (Wind).

I've been on the Sun before and enjoyed it.

I'll check out cruisecritic. I've used them before for ship reviews.

Any additional recommendations?

Also glacier bay is suppsed to be the best glacier, NCL is one of the few cruise lines that have GB on it's itinerary.

It's funny you mention it, ajrm30, I went to cruise compete for some quotes. The lowest offered came from cruise compete, but you don't always know the legitimacy of these companies. It's good to hear of others who have used them. The cruiseline I am leaning towards, Celebrity, is one that they don't discount although I noticed that they are suggesting things like shipboard credits, discounts on hotels, etc. That is a good tip to phone them to see if they offer even more. I will try that out. Thanks so much for the advice.

Also, on your question about the Alaskan cruise, my vote is Vancouver all the way. There is so much to do in Vancouver and it is very safe. The Granville market is a must see, along with Stanley Park. Victoria is a great side trip to stroll the inner harbour, have High Tea at the beautiful Empress Hotel and walk through Buschart Gardens. I have been there and to several Gulf islands quite a few times (I live in Alberta) and it never gets old!

I'm pretty sure this wasn't an option the last time I used this service, so it may have been added since you used them?

The Dream's engine problem have been fixed.
The Dream is not going to Alaska this year.
I sailed the Dream to Alaska in Sept. and we missed only one port. It was an exceptional 11 night cruise out of Seattle as we were able to do the inside passage which most ships do not do and also do a round trip that got us all the way to Seward.
Sure wish ships would do the same round trip itinerary for Alaska.
