Looking for CHEAP cruise for quickie vacation in February, need cruise line ideas!

Please help we have never cruised before and are looking for suggestions. We are taking a very expensive vacation to Ireland in August but are looking for a quick and cheap getaway to the beach in February. We live in Georgia so we could drive to Tampa or Port Canveral easily for departure and keep costs down that way. We are looking for a 5 day or so cruise leaving from one of these 2 ports but would like to do it under $400 person. Is this possible? We don't care if its not luxury or if we have a tiny inside cabin (though we certainly wouldn't complain if it were nicer ) We are a 30 yo couple no kids looking for warmer weather, fun times, and lots to do. We are into a more active party type cruise than relaxation.

Any suggestions? Any particular cruise line or route fit the bill? Are our price expectations out of whack? Any good websites for hot deals? Thanks in advance for all kind replies.

If you move it up to January you will have a better chance. Should be able to get 7 days for 5-600. Recommend Celebrity Western. Try www.vacationstogo.com for a run down.

Cammie and Jeff: Since you are "into a more active party type cruise than relaxation" I would not recommend Celebrity. Don't get me wrong, I love Celebrity, but it certainly is NOT a party type cruise. Try Royal Carribbean or Carnival.

I've used buycruises.com twice now and always have gotten great prices. They have updated their website so that you can really narrow down your choices of where, when, how long and how much.

Hi Cammie,
I just did alot of research and talked to alot of different internet cruise sites and ended up with Royal Carribean for Feb. Anyway the best price was cruisebrothers.com by quite a bit. Also you might want to avoid presidents week as all the schools are out and the prices are higher.
Good luck,
Marcia

Hi, Cammie and Jeff!

It's a bit more than you wanted to spend, but check out Carnival...I found a price of $469.33 per person for a category 4a (inside cabin) 5-day sailing on the Sensation out of Tampa. That price includes port charges and taxes. The ship calls at Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Good luck and have fun!
