Does HAL have washers and dryers for passengers to use?

Not on the new "Vista-type" ships, like Oosterdam, Westerdam, Zuiderdam and Noordam. Yes on the other ships.

Great. We are on the Ryndam going from Vanvouver to Seward. Are they pricey to use, is there a long wait usually? THese are self serve I take it?

The last time I was on the Veendam, I believe they were $1. and $2.00 (that was Nov. of 05 though).

Never saw a line when I went by the room. I never used it myself. I packed enough for the 14 day cruise plus pre-cruise.

Don't like to waste precious time doing laundry!

We were on the Amsterdam November 2006. They had a nice laudry room, with an iron and ironing board, too. the washers were $2.00 a load, and drying was free.
It was quite nice, very clean, well lit, sold detergent, and lightened our luggage load.
