Ketchikan - excursions

I will be visiting Ketchikan via a Princess cruise in June and am considering two tour options. Several in our group will be taking the sport fishing, 5 hour trip. I am not very interested in fishing and wonder if there will be enough activity/ sightseeing during the trip to keep me interested. I am thinking of opting out in favor of a Misty Fjord boat trip. Any fishing or fjord opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

In August we did a salmon fishing trip with Ketchikan Charter Boats and it was fun-- if you wanted to fish -- of course there is some nice scenery along the way, but, IMO, if yu weren't interested in the fishing, the Misty Fjord trip would be a better bet.

Many people take a flightseeing trip from Ketchikan over the Misty Fjords, which usually involves a landing at a mountain lake. That's what we did, and it was very enjoyable.

Forget about the fishing. Take the seapalne over Misty Fjord instead. If you book your own, you maybe able to get longer flight time for the same money when compare to cruise ships bookings.

We took the Misty Fjords seaplane tour with a wilderness landing and it was wonderful! Beautiful scenery! http://www.southeastaviation.com/

Thanks for your input. I think the fishing is out, Misty Fjords is in.
