### KAYAKING = COLD BOTTOMS?? ###

Thinking about kayaking in Ketchikan and my husband feels since water will be cold, our back bottoms will get cold too! Never mind possible tipping . . . We are not advid in kayaking but this tour gives class before we go into kayak. We paddle about 2 miles. Any advise?

I am an avid kayak'er. For those cold seats bring along one of the thermal seats they use at Football games. They work very nicely.

Thank you, Techydude. Being an advid skier thought of the foot warmers that did wonders this past season. Your suggestion good- never thought of it, not big football fan.

Haha neither am I but I have found some benefits from the game.

We are not advanced kayakers either, and enjoyed our kayak excursion in Ketchikan last summer. We didn't book ahead either, just walked off the boat, and part of our party went over to the kayaks, part shopped! It was not freezing - don't worry 'bout bringing extra gear. The kayaks are dry - that is, you sit inside and the little elastic cover goes around your waist, kept us quite warm. However, my brother is 6'4" and his toes were cramped! My husband and I had a tandem and it was great. We wore rain slickers - and it rained! But afterwards we warmed up in a local bar with soup and drinks! Have a great time!
