Is this a good price???

I just got a price quote for the April 20-27 sailing on RCCL's Enchantment of the Seas. Oceanview room- category i. Price was for myself and 12 year old child -- not including air, but including taxes, port charges, etc. The price was for $2148.00-- is this a good deal??

Sounds about right to me.

Thanks, Rip!

Got a price of $2197 at cruise411.com, including insurance. Without insurance it's $1,999. I've used cruise411 and was very happy with their service.

Frank: Your price was for the same dates, cruiseline, ship as mine?? Did you call or email them for a quote?

Frank Jul 10th, 2002 09:28 AM

I checked all the same parameters you gave. You can price it online once you register. I've generally found the cruise411 is the rockbottom price.

I just found a price of $2000 for the same cruise on mytravelco.com

I checked with the local Cruise mob just for fun. Quoted 1749.00 total from a real person. Also a guaranteed upgrade! Too bad I'm not really going.

Frank Jul 10th, 2002 12:31 PM

Coral: Who are the "local Cruise mob"? If in fact that's a real price, let's have the name of the company and phone number. You may not be going but Liz is, that was the whole point of the original question.

P.S. Guarantees are dangerous. You could end up under the disco. To each his own, I prefer to know exactly which cabin I'm booking.

Be sure you're comparing apples to apples. A Category I is $2099 total for 2, A Category N Inside is $1799 and a Category Q Inside is $1729.00. Be very careful that what you are being quoted is what you want. These prices are including port charges & government fees. Call Diane at away2go.com 800-938-8638. She's great & she is honest.

I am overwhelmed by your responses- thanks for all the help! By the way- where the heck is Category i? Is it the first floor above where the crew is?And is oceanview a porthole or honest to goodness full size window??? (It sounds so low on the ship that it might be kind of creepy! )
