Is a room with a view worth it?
 

I have cruised in cabins that have had a view and cabins that don't have a view. I like looking at the sea, but I don't think it is worth the extra money for the view. I suggest saving the cash and get a room with no view (interior cabin) and then you have a few hundred to spend on other things.<BR><BR>Besides, who goes on a cruise to spend a lot of time in their rooms?

My experience is that the difference between the interior cabin and a room with a porthole or window or balcony usually ranges from $200-$1000 per person for a 7-day cruise. <BR><BR>Even $200 per person is not worth it. Heck, $100 per person is not worth it. Now a days the tv has a videocamera and you can see the weather before you get dressed.<BR><BR>Also go ANYWHERE on the ship and you can see the ocean. So, to be able to see the sea when I wake up is not worth the extra cash. I guess some lame people sit in the cabin all day. Not much of a vacation if you ask me.

We had a balcony last time because we found a true bargain and decided to try it. Now we're spoiled! The great thing about having one is that you can sleep with the slider open and let the sounds of the ocean lull you to sleep. Pure Heaven!

Unless I get upgraded for free, I will never spend extra on a cabin. I will, however , get ocean view at resorts. I need nothing to lull me to asleep- after working out, food, sun ,rum, dinner, wine, show, piano bar-I'm lucky to just get my clothes off before falling asleep, LOL!!

I guess it would depend where you are cruising to. We just came back from Alaska and actually saw whales from our window! We also saw a bald eagle fishing, as well. Awesome!

I do think it depends on your itinerary. If you are spending more days at sea, you may spend more time in you cabin - even in the evening - enjoying a balcony. I know I did. However if it's a very port-intensive itinerary, you probably won't be in your cabin that much. <BR><BR>It all depends on what is important to you. Having coffee on my balcony in the morning was a great treat!<BR>
