imagine this
can aybody tell me about the carnival ship "Imagination"?. I ned the real scoop on carnival.

Visit cruiseaddicts.com and read the review boards, written by people who have been on the ship you wish to research. However, each person's experience is highly subjective. If you read several reviews and, for example, all seven say that the service is excellent, then its pretty safe to assume that you will find the service satisfactory. As for the "real scoop?" Who knows? Your own experience will be the real scoop!

Have fun!

You might also visit cruisecritics.com. Cruiseaddiscts.com should be cruise-addicts.com

You might also want to check out http://www.cruiseopinion.com
Lots and lots of cruisers' reviews on that site

I've taken many, many cruises and that was the ship I least liked. Would really encourage you to pick another.

You really should detail your experience and tell us what ships you have sailed to make a comparision.

Paul

I am sailing on the Imagination April 1 for 5 nights with husband and two teenage daughters. I'm looking forward to a great family experience. Do any of you know how the golf excursions work from this ship? What are the courses like?

Also, Carnival is putting us up overnight in Miami because of not being able to fly us home the day we get back. Do you happen to know what hotel they use? I'm anxious to find out and my travel agent isn't sure until our paperwork comes in a couple more weeks. I want to find some things to do in the Miami area for a Saturday afternoon and evening that are near the hotel.

Any help here would be really appreciated!!

Nancy

Paul,
I just read your answer to this same question which I had posted last week. Thanks for the info. I just hadn't heard much on it so I thought I'd ask again. I still am unsure though what hotel(s) Carnival uses when they pay for your overnight stays? Anybody out there know? I heard it might be the airport Wyhdham. True?
|
Hi Nancy,

Yes they usually use the Wyndam but not always. More than likely it will be an upscale airport hotel.

Your travel agent could get that info for you by calling the air/sea dept. 30 days before sailing when the air is processed.

Paul
Paul,

Thanks for the info. Yes, my agent will check for me soon. We leave April 1st. I am just excited about going and can't stand the wait. Michigan is real cold right now...and I've got Spring fever. One more month!!

Nancy

Six of us (3 couples ranging in age from 25 to 50) sailed the Imagination last June. As always it was a terrific experience. Four had never been on a cruise so they were really impressed. Carnival ships are anything you want them to be: active, laid back, rousing, quiet, etc. As with any vacation, you have to decide what you're trying to get out of it. The cruisers are a varied group from young to old, well-heeled, middle class, different nationalities. Enjoy every minute of your cruise.

Has this ship ever been refurbished since it started in 1995? Does anybody know? Thanks
|
Hi Tony,

No major refurbishments (the ship is not that old). It is drydocked periodically for upkeep that can not be done while the ship is sailing. As with any mass-market cruise line you will see wear-and-tear on the ships. Depends how fussy you are.

On the last CDC inspection in September it received a 92 out of a possible 100. Pretty good score.

Paul
