No Peter, we certainly didn't have the same mother. Sorry for your poor parents, seeing what they ended up with.

Candie, IF you want a really nice cruise that your husband could not complain about (except maybe the price), try Radisson. The ships are smaller, the service is excellent, food is great and almost everything but shore excursions are included in the fare. I think the Mariner is the ship that is sailing to Alaska this summer. It carries 700 passengers and is an all-suite and balcony ship - even the least expensive staterooms are big and have a balcony. Usually there are no long lines for anything. Dining is open seating, which means no assigned table for every meal and you can dine anytime you want to eat within dining hours in the restaurants. There is also 24 hour room service. Wines are served with dinner (and with lunch on some of the ships). All soft drinks, bottled water, expresso, etc. are complimentary. On most Radisson ships there is one initial complimentary minibar set up in your room with beer and wine or liquor of your choice. <BR>Radisson is one of the 6 star cruise lines and I think for the quality of their product and all the items included in the fare, well worth the cost. I would have a hard time sailing with a different line now. I have been on Carnival, Norwegian, RCCL, Costa, Princess and a couple other lines no longer in business. Of those lines I preferred Princess and Costa. I do not care for the style of cruise found on the big megaships even though many of them have beautiful facilites. I prefer the more personal service we found on Radisson. Have a great cruise. Alaska was one of my favorite cruises. We went on Princess on that cruise several years ago. Find a cruise line that goes to Glacier Bay if you can. HAve a great time. I have never had a bad cruise. Some were better than others and the worst was great.
