Hurricanes enroute on Bermuda cruise (Oct/Nov)???

Hi- I'm looking at a cruise for either the first week of Oct or first week of Nov, from Baltimore to Bermuda. I know that I'll prob have some choppy seas en-route b/c the Atlantic isn't exactly the smoothest sail at that time (which I can handle), but my really big concern is that a hurricane en-route might cause our trip to get diverted.

So 1) How likely would it be for us to be diverted due to a hurricane in Oct (first week in Oct)?

And 2) I know hurricanes are less likely to happen in Nov, so if we went in Nov (first week in Nov), what would the actual weather in Bermuda be like... warm enough for laying out on the beach?

Thanks!!!

Can't really answer question #1, but November is starting to get cooler, and although it might be great weather for being on the beach (depending where you're from), your chances of cool and rainy days increase. November is typically my favorite month in Bermuda, humidity is down and it's perfect for exploring, but there's no assurance.
Also, cruises to Bermuda tend to wrap up for the year near then end of Oct - just making sure your cruise line will still be sailing?

Having done at least a dozen cruises from Boston to Bermuda and one attempted from NYC to Bermuda...Don't even think of November!!!! Most of our cruises have been done the second week in September or mid-October.. From NYC there was a huge hurricane in Bermuda and we were deverted to Canada, other ships went to the Caribbean..The Canadian ports turned out to be some of our favorite ports..

It's absolutely impossible to say how likely a hurricane would be. They can certainly happen. I did a late October cruise to the Caribbean a couple of years ago, and it was smooth sailing, though we had cool weather and rain one full day on the way south. In other years, you could encounter a big hurricane.

Back in 2001 we took a Carnival cruise in the middle of a hurricane. We did not know what to expect but our Captain changed the itinerary so that we were always at a safe distance. We still went to all our original ports of call but on different days. Even then we had the most wonderful time, but I do have to say that I needed a lot of Dramamine on that trip.
