How to get from Ft Lauderdale to Miami Pier
Here's the deal.... flying standby into Ft. Lauderdale to catch a cruise from Miami. I can't do transfers because I'll be coming in a day early and not going directly to the cruise ship. I just need to go to Miami and get a hotel there ( how about the Best Western at the pier?? ) I can use the ships transfers back to the airport. Lot of inconvenience but can save a couple of hundred if it works.

Paul, this one may be a good one for you! Any insight is appreciated. I know I can rent a car and drop at MIA but hate to if not necessary.

Hi Kay,

Yes transfers will not take you to your hotel unless you purchased the hotel package from the cruise line.

The Best Western Marina Park is a nice hotel. Comfortable, reasonable, but it is not a Sheraton.

I would not attempt to walk to the pier from the hotel. It only appears close.

I like the Best Western since it is right across the street from the Bayside Marketplace which is a destination by itself. You can spend hours there.

Whenever my plane is due to leave late from Miami I always take a taxi to the Marketplace.

There are many retail outlets/food court/outside and inside restaurants/entertainment/boat tours, etc. No beach.

Paul

Hi Kay,

I forgot. The airport shuttle will take you to the Best Western. Also a taxi, of course.

Make reservations now. The hotel fills quickly.

Paul

Thanks Paul,

Do you know how much the shuttle from Ft. Lauderdale to the Best Western would be? How about from the Miami airport? Just approximately.

Kay
