We took a Mediterranean cruise last year and stopped at both Venice and Dubrovnik - you do NOT need an excursion at either of those ports. They are both beautiful and interesting. In Dubrovnik, one thing you will definitely want to do is walk the walls of the old city - you can actually walk around the entire city - breathtaking views. We also visited some museums, shopped, ate and drank. The old city is easily walkable. In Venice, we took the Doge's Secret Itineraries tour - you can search for it on the Europe board. Make sure to make reservations in advance. We loved it - they take you to all of these behind the scenes rooms in the Doge's Palace. Venice is just lovely to walk around, take the water taxi, take a gondola ride, sit at a café, visit the numerous museums, churches, etc... I also highly recommend checking out cruisecritic - great source of information. We also visited Sicily but stopped at the other port. We just caught a taxi to Taormina which is gorgeous. We went to the Greco-Roman Amphitheater.

Comgratulations on your upcoming wedding. As your honeymoon is a very special time, do what do the two of you want to see and do? If you are interested in art then there is much to see and if you like archeological sites then you go for them. If it is beaches choose some.
Think of this cruise as a buffet, if you try to do too much you will be uncomfortable and may miss the important things.
Naples best might be Pompeii or the Isle of Capri. Which is yours? Remenmber that this is your honeymoon. Do what you both like and have a great time and wonderful memories for years to come.

Mikieguns-

When you get to NAPLES, make sure you have a car and driver and spend the day going down the AMALFI coast and stop in Sorrento and Positano..it is the MOST gorgeous and romantic scenery ever! You do NOT need cruise excursions
in either Naples,Venice,Dubronik,Barcelona,or Cannes..ALL are within walking distance of the ship ( I have not been to Messina).

The best thing is get a guide book for Europe or Italy and make your own itinerary...that way you can see what you are interested in.

If you are interested in CONTEMPORARY art, in Venice, there is the Peggy Gugenheim Museum ( Not on the standard museum guides for the most part)-it was her private home and is AWESOME..
Also, contrary to what all will tell you- DO a gondola ride..Romantic and WHEN will you get back there again! Remember, bring along a bottle of wine-it is allowable and make sure to get the gondelier to sing for you...

In Barcelona, after heading thru the market, you will walk up the Ramblas section and see the architecture of GAUDI..it is wild!

In Cannes, try to get over to Monte Carlo for the evening IF your ship will overnite in Cannes..The MAIN Casino is where they filmed the James Bond movies and is a work of art with frescos on the ceiling!

In Dubronik, walk to the walled city- it is a wonderful place to spend the day...
