Holland America Westerdam Oceanview Stateroom

Does Westerdam Oceanview (Full) Stateroom allows standing space before the window unhindered by the bed ? I have seen some photos which shows the bed is positioned with bed headboard touching the window wall, which effectively disallow standing next to the window. Any comment ?

Most of older cruise ships have beds by the windows, you cannot walk over to a window. Maybe if you ask the cabin steward to move single beds to the sides... have 2 singles instead of 1 king size.

Why not call HAL and ask?

We have been on the Westerdam three times in a standard, ocean view room. The window is rectangular, good size, at the head of the bed. You cannot stand in front the window. You can kneel on the bed and look out the window. The balcony rooms have a door opening outwards and floor to ceiling window so the bed is to the side. Not sure why you are asking the question. Even if you could stand in front of the window your view is very limited other than straight ahead. Even the balconies have limited sight lines.
