Help with Captain Marvin's excursion

Could someone suggest which excursion I should book with Captian Marvin's in Cayman? We arrive on the Grand Princess at 7:00 a.m. and leave at 4:00 p.m. Realistically, how long do we have for the excursion and when should I begin? Also what should I take on the excursion. Hope someone has done it.

We did this about 2 years ago but someone in our group organized everything and I just paid him. I am not sure which "tour" we took. I think we had 3 stops on our tour.

I would recommend not scheduling anything before 9 or 9:30. It sometimes takes time for the ship to clear and those on ship excursions are the first ones off. When you are corresponding with them, you can say you are on the Grand and they can tell you what tour time will work best.

I would wear your swimsuit with a tshirt and shorts over it when you leave the ship. Bring a bag with water or pop if you want. On our trip, we stopped at a liquor store but we had 20 in our group and they may have done that just for us (not sure). They had drinks on the boat but I prefer to bring my own.

Also bring sun tan lotion, your camera, an underwater camera if you want, and if you own your own snorkel gear, bring that. They have snorkel gear if you do not.

Our tour was about 3.5 hours total. We had about an hour to shop before we felt we needed to head back to the ship. We always try to get back to the ship an hour before we are supposed to.

We were very impressed with Capt Marvin's people - very friendly, helpful and professional. Best excursion of my life.

Hope this helps :)

My husband and I enjoyed Capt Marvin's in June aboard the Voyager. We booked the 11:15 time, but found out it was an hour earlier in Cayman (actually 12:15 on the ship)Remember that, and don't freak! Anyway, we chose the shortest excursion (2 hrs) and it was plenty long. We snorkeled at the coral gardens for 40 min or so, then spent some time with the rays. If you choose this excursion, you have plenty time to shop or have lunch on the ship before getting there. In case you don't have his link, here it is. We booked online 3 weeks before cruise and it was very smooth...they did a GREAT job. Enjoy!http://www.captainmarvins.com/

Linda made a good point.

Some ships don't use the port times while other ships have the ship time and port time the same.
