Has anyone taked the NCL POA cruise?

I spoke to two acquaintances recently and their reviews are terrible. Troubles include;
1. Very small rooms.
2. Poor food and service.
3. Being rushed through dinner and having to order ones dessert with your entree order to speed up the process. There was no option.
4. All docking sites next to freighter docks so it was constantly noisy.
5. NCL changed the day of one of their excursions w/o telling them so they missed it. They received about a 60% refund BUT had to pay full charge AGAIN to do this excursion on a different day.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's "POA"?

No problem at all. Its an abbreviation for the name of the ship, Pride of America. :-)

Went on the POA about a year ago. My only complaint was the food in the main dining room wasn`t very good and the service was very slow. They didn`t have enough help to do a good job. If we do it again (doubtful) I`d eat in the specialty restaurants that charge extra. The rooms are small but that didn`t bother us. I don`t remember being docked next to freighter stops and don`t remember it as being noisy. You sail at night so there was no problem with trying to sleep. We did have a problem with the luauu (sp?). It rained so they had to move it indoors, so many people didn`t get to go, as they didn`t have enough room. We didn`t know many people had been turned back, and innocently got on the bus, and went. The good part was seeing hawaii, and the ship was very pretty. You might want to look at www.cruisereviews.com

Thanks Pat. My friend said they were rushed in and out of dinner in about an hour or so, far faster than your typical sit down dinner experience.
